For golf enthusiasts the nearest 18-hole golf course is only 43 kilometres away, in the municipality of Muurame (43 kilometres north from Himos). Naturally, the first and foremost winter activities available are cross country and downhill skiing. On top of that one can opt for snowmobile safaris and similar choices, of which there is an ample selection available. Various art exhibitions and cultural events are available the year round in Jämsä and around the region of Jyväskylä city. The art gallery of the painter Veli Ähtävä is definitely worth a visit in this area, as well. |
